Food for Thought, Ideas, Hypotheses
My posts are meant to stir it up.
And spark ideas. I think I have a few to offer.
I publish both in English and German. German’s my mother tongue. Home advantage.
In English I might have some “false friends.”
Despite years of practice.
Might sound a bit “Herman ze German” at times and perhaps a little gruff.

“I’ll do my very best” to properly transcreate for international readers. Not quite there yet. But on my way.
I don’t translate in one direction, but back and forth. This way, I write both versions in parallel and they mutually benefit. Because what seems crystal clear in one language is sometimes ambiguous in the other.
My CAE examiners once advised: “Choose British or American. Then stick with it.”
The other day, a native-English colleague disclosed: “You should have been a Brit.”
Fair enough. British it is.
This is how you read my blog. With a sly smile and a pinch of British humour in mind.
Enjoy! I’d love to hear your thoughts.

But that’s only half the hypothesis.
I'll reveal the rest in my blog article.....
